Product: Personal Microdermabrasion System
In Their Words:
Microdermabrasion is a noninvasive form of exfoliation and mild skin resurfacing that removes the dead skin cells from the Stratum Corneum, the outer most layer of the skin. The Stratum Corneum is the layer of the skin affected by fine lines, wrinkles, blemishes, acne, and scaring. The concentrated microdermabrasion treatment exfoliates this skin layer to break apart these common imperfections. This then triggers the body’s healing mechanisms, causing the removed dead skin cells to be rapidly replaced with healthy, new ones.
Microdermabrasion provides several important benefits for the skin. The treatment smoothes away dull and rough skin texture, and it softens fine lines, wrinkles, burn scars, and blemishes. The treatment also improves the skin’s tone by fading uneven pigmentation, sun damage, age spots, and skin blemishes. In addition, microdermabrasion, which combines the power of a vacuum suction with exfoliation, reduces the formation of blemishes. The vacuum achieves this by clearing out clogged pores and releasing trapped dirt and oil. This leaves skin more clear, vibrant, and beautiful.
The benefits of microdermabrasion cause skin to become rejuvenated, while promoting new collagen growth and cell renewal. Also, since the dead skin cells on the Stratum Corneum act as a barrier for the skin, once they are removed through microdermabrasion, skin care products will be more fully absorbed into the skin, maximizing their effectiveness. All these microdermabrasion benefits combine to uncover youthful and radiant skin.
I got to review the Personal Microdermabrasion System.
I have very sensitive skin so I was a little nervous to use this the first time but also excited! I wasn’t really sure what to expect the first time.
The system comes with 7 exfoliating discs (1 white training, 2 green and 4 blue). I used the test one first which felt fine so I moved on to the small blue one. You really have to watch the video (above) first to understand how to use it. It was a little hard to get used to especially on curved areas like my nose but I am getting better at. You don’t need to spend a lot of time with it all, doing my whole face takes about 3 minutes.
My skin was a little red for about an hour after but nothing shocking. I didn’t notice a huge difference at first. I used it again about 5 days later which might have been a little too soon because my face burned a just a little after.
About 6 days after the second time I did it I noticed the most change in my skin. It’s a lot smoother and my pores look a LOT smaller. I have some big pores on my cheeks which drive me crazy and nothing has helped before this. Before I needed to use a really hard face scrub about once a week to get rid of my dry skin areas and my skin didn’t really improve after.
The larger discs are great for other areas like feet or elbows. I used them on my feet the first week and it worked great especially on my heels.
The only thing negative I can see is that one disc only last you about 2-3 applications. So the replacement costs might start to add up but still MUCH cheaper then going to salon to get this down professionally.
