I went to P.F. Chang’s for the first time about five years since a new one opened close to our house. About four years ago I started going more because I got a job that had one just around the corner.
They just had new food and drink items added to the menu plus the location by my work, in Palo Alto California, just had a small remodel also. I got the chance to review the new offerings and decor. I hadn’t been there in about six months so I was excited to see the difference.
The restaurant has always been beautifully decorated. With the new remodel they added new lights everywhere. The biggest change I saw was they added a long room divider down the middle of the room. I really liked this because the dining area has a somewhat funny shape. The divider helped make it into more of two rooms, although still open. This would also be perfect for a private party. The middle part of the room is still a little dark because of the lack of windows but some people might like that for privacy.
I don’t get cocktails very often but this was perfect timing since I was having a stressful day. I picked the Chang’s Mai Tai to try. I don’t really like to get mixed drinks at restaurants because they usually water them down or fill it with tons of ice. The Mai Tai didn’t taste watered down at all. It was really delicious.
I have always loved their food options. Since I hadn’t been there in a while I went with my favorite, the Mongolian Beef with a side of Hot & Sour Soup. The Hot & Sour soup is still my favorite out of all the others I’ve tried.
Everything was tasty and the staff was wonderful.
