Product: Leather Care
Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
I have a Dooney & Bourke leather satchel bag that I bought on sale about two years that I carry everyday. I love that bag but it has started looking faded and dirty. Most leather will darken with wear no matter what you do. I prefer to carry leather purses now because they last longer and are easier to clean although leather products need to be taken care of.
I had the opportunity to review Chamberlain’s Leather Care Liniment No. 1. It is leather conditioner plus a gentle cleaner. It came with a large cotton terry applicator pad to apply. The ‘milk’ is very oily in texture. Made from natural, leather-nutrient-rich ingredients; concocted from natural oils and conditioners, plus a few highly classified mystical properties (ooo mysterious…)
I took a before photo of my purse but it didn’t turn out so unfortunately I couldn’t use it so you only get to see the after. The leather milk soaked right in to the leather with the help of the pad. A lot of dirt came off of the handles and bottom even though I had already cleaned it previously. It brought the dark rich leather color back to it. It had a somewhat deep cut into the leather on the bottom of the purse and the milk helped it be barely noticeable.
It can used as often as you think is needed. You can also use it on leather shoes, leather boots, leather luggage, leather saddle/tack and leather apparel. It should not be used on suede or extremely soft leather types.
It is a little pricey at a little under $20 a bottle. Although I thought I would use almost the whole bottle on my purse and I used hardly any and I went over it twice.
